    Hazzardous Universe School Visits information:  Our school visits will be creative and interactive multi-media events.  Using Power Point slides, video, props (such as alien puppets), readings, and art, Julie and Kevin will create a uniquely entertaining and inspiring experience for youth and adults to truly tap into their own creativity. We talk about magic and bring the discussion back around to the fact that all of magic can be revealed by learning to see things from a different point of view. Our goals are to help the youth understand their own value and the importance of their ideas, and to bring an awareness of the arts in all their forms--to promote literacy and appreciation for art in a way that is fun and exciting.

    Presentation topics include:

         “The Big Bang”

    *     All School Grades.

    *     How The Hazzardous Universe began.

    *     How to come up with creative ideas for stories and art.

    *     How to take those initial ideas and give them wings to soar.

    *     Teach how there is a story in everything.

         “4 . . . 3 . . . 2 . . . 1 . . . Imagine!”

    *     For elementary and middle schools

    *     Imaginative activities inspired by The Hazzardous Universe.

    *     “We are about to take off on an interstellar voyage, traveling at the speed of imagination!”

    *     Julie and Kevin present creative prompts, such as discussing some of the aliens in The Hazzardous Universe and then allowing students to "try-out" alien movements, write descriptions of their own aliens, and/or draw.

    *     Puppets and props would also be created to create a more engaging experience and to allow students to interact with certain characters from The Hazzardous Universe.

         “Out of Orbit”

    *     For Middle-, Junior, and High Schools

    *     Skills in Creative Thinking

    *     Observation, Risk-taking, Skill Mastery, etc.

    Our biggest desire in school visits is to show how writing (even writing papers for homework) and art can be fun, how creativity is limitless, and creative thinking can take you anywhere you want to go. Kevin is the founder of "Give a Kid a Sketchbook" which is the belief that if kids have a place to record/write/sketch their own ideas, it will open them up to exploration and pushing the boundaries.
