Literacy: In the World, Not of the World:

Several authors discuss the literary and spiritual impact of children seeing parents read, the importance of reading to children, how reading affects our families, the statistics of literacy, how to encourage your children to read the scriptures, what the prophets say about spiritual and temporal literacy, and current trends in the LDS book market.

Talents: What is a sundial in the shade?:

Julie Wright discusses the parable of talents and how, as sisters in Zion, we have a responsibility to develop our talents and use them to build each other and strengthen our homes and families. We discuss the importance of finding value in yourself and the gifts Heavenly Father has given you.

Finding Joy: The Hokey Pokey and other opportunities to throw our whole selves in:

Julie Wright discuss the importance of joy along the journey of life, finding silver linings, and gratitude for the blessing of each new day.

Speaking Engagements

I often speak to writing and church groups and would enjoy going to your area. Please email me to see what dates I am available to do this for you. Also check out some photos and clips here

There is no fee for church groups. I love speaking to the relief society and youth and feel that it has its own rewards. Topics of particular interest to me are achieving your dreams by making and setting goals, Living Happy, and the importance of literacy. Because so much of our nation's progress and well being depends on literacy for everyone, I am passionate about this topic. I believe that by increasing the awareness of how important it is to read in the home and to set that standard and example for our children, we can change the face of our society for the better.

There is no fee for smaller book club meetings, but I do bring books with me to sell.

For school engagements, Festivals, or writing groups, the fees truly depend on the situation.

Since I live so far away from everything, I ask that my travel expenses are covered. If there are other fees required it will depend on the time and travel involved. Please email me to discuss what you have in mind.
